So...part way in to my 2nd 30 day challenge, my team at work created our own - where each team member provided a few topics, and we picked the 30 best. Sorry to ditch one part way through, but the one's our team came up with were better anyway.

30 Day Challenge now begins.

Only rules - you must do 30 drawings within a 30 day span...as long as you have 30 drawings at the end, all is fine in the world.

Started drawing, and just felt like drawing triangles...just experimented with this.

Interruption to Regular Programming

So, I was at the beach yesterday doing a random hand study. Thanks to Steven Silver's Pose Book App - which is brilliant, btw.

Some I'm fairly happy with, others, not so much. What can I say - they were quick studies...

Day 2: Monster (Good)

Day 2 of the challenge is a good monster. Tried playing with a few different shapes for this one, and this was what I landed on.

A bit about him: His heart is so warm, he radiates heat. Partially the reason his heart is located in his antennae. Self defense mechanism is killing his enemies with kindness. Yay cheese!

Day 1: Self Portrait

Decided I need another spurt of drawing every day - with a specific topic to get the brain muscles working. Found another drawing challenge, so here goes! Time yet again for my followers to get tired of my tweets and facebook updates!

Day 1 is (fancy that), a Self Portrait.  Thought I'd give a glimpse into what my work days have looked like for the past couple years since I began focusing mainly on managing a team, directing others art, among other things (email, email, email)...

Half Measure

Trying out a character design for an animation challenge. Thought I'd try my hand at this month's 11 Second Club. We'll see if I finish in time...

In any case, I'm going to post my progress, even if I don't hit the end of the month deadline.

Day 30: A Congrats Banner For Finishing The Challenge!

Well, I did it! My first 30 Day Challenge! It was a great learning experience, and I feel I've improved based on it. It's inspired me to draw more, and learn more, so I'm thinking my blog will be a little more active than it's been in past years. Thanks for joining me on the journey!

Day 19: Something New

I don't buy many new things, I've noticed...

Something I did buy recently was a 3x3 illustration annual. There's a lot of inspirational illustrations in it, so I thought I'd draw myself reading it. Hope you enjoy!

Day 18: Doodle

I suppose you can say I did a bit more than a doodle for this one...but I consider a lot of the sketching I do "doodles". Saw "The Artist" last week, so thought I'd draw something inspired by the film.

Day 16: Inspiration

Day 16 is Inspiration. Life is my inspiration - and I can't think of anything that signify's the beauty of life better than the little plant Wall-E finds among all the garbage and dead in the world. Sometimes inspiration is hard to find, but if you sort through enough garbage, you're bound to find it. That's about as deep as I get.

I also love Pixar, am always inspired by their films, and am a huge fan of Andrew Stanton, so there's more than just the plant that inspires me in this illustration.

Well...life hasn't been the same since I married Les, so I'd have to say that was my turning point. So much good has come about since then - can't count the number of blessings!

Day 8: Favorite Animated Character

This one turned out to be tougher than I thought - since my favorite animated character changes pretty much every week. Tigger won today though.

Day 6: Favorite Book Character

I'm a HUGE Bill Peet fan. Love what he did for Disney as a story artist. His children's stories especially strike a chord with me, so I present my favorite book character: Buford the Little Bighorn.

Day 5: Best Friend

Day 5 challenge is to draw your best friend. I present the girl who married me. Another one to add some color to.
